Many of us get confused about recognizing our true duties. Some of us may think our duty is to respond to every request. That’s not responding to duty. It’s a co – dependent response to life.
Then we may sway the other way. I’m only going to do the things I want to do. “Nothing more and nothing less,” we think. On some other planet that might work, but it doesn’t work well here.
It’s hard to do things we’d rather not do, especially once we get in touch with ourselves and have some sense of what we like and what we don’t like. Once we show up, however, it can be challenging to respond to our duties with poise, an open heart, and grace.
Challenge: The hardest thing about duty is deciding what our duty is. The voice of true duty is distinct. Learn to recognize it when it beckons.
